About Soft Steps Occupational Therapy

Western Australia

I work evenings and weekends, partly because I think therapy should fit around real life, and partly because it means I can offer families and working adults a kind of flexibility that's not always easy to find. My particular focus is on comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments and NDIS reporting, alongside ongoing therapy. Comprehensive NDIS Assessments A well-written assessment can be the difference between funding that fits your real life and funding that falls short.

I provide: Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) — for plan reviews, NDIS access requests, and changes in circumstances SIL and SDA Assessments — detailed functional evidence for housing application Sensory profile assessments — using validated tools (Sensory Profile-2, PEDI-CAT, BRIEF-2, COPM) What makes my reports different: they're written in plain English, every recommendation is linked to a specific NDIS goal and justified against reasonable-and-necessary criteria, and they're delivered within 3-4 weeks of the assessment session — not the 6-8 weeks that's typical elsewhere.

Therapy and ongoing support Beyond assessment, I work with families on: Handwriting, fine motor, and school participation Sensory processing, regulation, and meltdown patterns Attention, focus, and emotional regulation Daily living and self-care independence School morning routines, transitions, and sleep Where I can help You're approaching a plan review and need updated functional evidence You're preparing your first NDIS access request An adult family member needs an FCA for plan review, SIL or SDA Your child has been diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, or developmental delay and needs OT Mornings, transitions, or unexpected changes consistently end in meltdowns Sensory sensitivities or sensory seeking is affecting school, sleep, or family life Your current OT has waitlisted you, isn't quite the right fit, or has stopped responding What's different about working with me I'm available now.

Most new clients have their first session within 1-2 weeks. No 6-month waitlists. I work evenings and weekends. Because therapy and assessments shouldn't mean pulling your child out of class or taking time off work. I complete FCA reports around in 3-4 weeks. Whether you need it for a plan review deadline or an NDIS access request, your report arrives in time to be useful. I write reports parents can actually read. No jargon, no copy-paste recommendations.

Each report tells your family's specific story. I'm a sole practitioner, not a clinic. You'll always work with me directly. Funding and area Plan Managed and Self Managed NDIS participants welcome.
