About Social Skills Connect

Victoria

Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner | Children, Young Adults & SIL Expert, Consistent Clinical Support Social Skills Connect is a specialist solo practice led by a Senior Practitioner. Unlike larger agencies, I provide complete clinical consistency—you work directly with me from the first assessment to the final plan. Based in Highett, I am a mobile practitioner serving the Bayside and Peninsula regions. Clinical Oversight & Best Practice My practice is conducted under the professional supervision of Pandon Consultants.

This ensures all Behavior Support Plans (BSP) and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) meet the highest NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards. Specialist Skills & Lifespan Support I provide a seamless pathway of support for participants at every life stage: Children & Youth: Specialist in neuro-affirming practices, school transitions, and social-emotional development. Adults & SIL Environments: Extensive experience managing complex, high-intensity behaviors in Supported Independent Living (SIL).

I work "on the ground" with staff to reduce restrictive practices and improve resident independence. My Approach: DIR/Floortime I use the DIR/Floortime model to address the root causes of behavior. By focusing on emotional regulation and building genuine trust, I help participants find effective ways to communicate their needs and connect with their world. Mobile Service Areas & Capacity I am currently accepting new participants (Children through to Adults) in: Bayside: Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham, Black Rock, and Highett.

Peninsula: Seaford, Frankston, and surrounding suburbs. The Collaborative Difference I pride myself on being a responsive partner for Support Coordinators. I ensure all NDIS reporting is clinically robust, submitted on time, and translated into practical steps that families and SIL teams can implement with confidence.

We’ve had a really positive experience with Social Skills Connect. From the beginning, it felt like they genuinely cared and took the time to understand the person, not just the behaviours. The support is thoughtful and respectful. There’s a strong focus on building trust first, which has made a big difference. Communication has always been clear, and we’ve felt included and supported along the way. It’s reassuring to work with someone who sees the whole person and works at their pace. Highly recommend.

We’ve had such a positive experience with Social Skills Connect. What really stands out is how much they genuinely care. It never feels rushed or clinical — they take the time to really understand the person in front of them.

Katherine Van Eede has provided exceptional support in behaviour support and skill acquisition. They have worked with a non-verbal adult with ASD and intellectual disability, offering practical communication strategies, thoughtful behaviour support, and structured skill development. Their approach is calm, person-centred, and evidence-based. They focus on understanding the reasons behind behaviours and building meaningful skills rather than just managing challenges. They collaborate well with family and support staff, ensuring consistency and real progress. We have seen positive improvements in communication, regulation, and independence. Highly recommended.
