Our homes are designed to cater for up to four residents however each room is personalised to indicate the personal needs and preferences of each resident. We all become one big family, making informed decisions together based on individual and group needs within our home. We offer for free a wide range of sensory products to our residents; these will be according to each resident’s needs. The products we offer provided by our partner Sensory Overload Australia In all our Quality Sensory Homes will provide you with support with daily life tasks within your home as a group or individually to support independence and build personal skills.
This may include but not limited to • Cooking and meal preparations. • Access to sensory rooms • Personal care such as showering. • Support with taking medication and or attending medical appointments • Support in using public transport. • Social outings with other housemates. • Accessing recreation activities. We have a community adventure and bush therapy program that takes participants walking by along the nature parks, feeding birds and walking pets.
The chance to do something different, to share experiences and make friendships in a different environment. The program has a significant positive impact on participants’ morale and strengthens their relationships with support workers. The gardening program provides an opportunity for residents to engage in something productive and practical, as well as to think more about what they eat. In a world of instability, the garden provides residents with a sense of security, a place to reflect and an opportunity to practice patience.
