Live and Learn Group is an NDIS registered disability support provider based in Penrith, supporting participants across Western Sydney. Established in 2021, the team works with people of all ages with disability to achieve their goals and live life to their full potential, with a person-centred approach built on integrity, empathy, empowerment, diversity and respect. The Day Program runs from HQ in Penrith, an activity centre with a games room, sensory room, quiet room, technology area, music room and a farm yard where participants grow their own vegetables and collect eggs from free-range chickens.
Activities change regularly and are shaped around participant interests, with an emphasis on everyday life skills, confidence and social connection. Therapists can meet participants in a private space on site, and transport to and from the centre can be arranged. In-home and individual supports are delivered one-to-one, seven days a week, and cover personal care, morning and evening routines, domestic assistance, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, travel training, medication assistance, attending appointments and community access.
Support ranges from a few hours to around-the-clock care depending on need. Live and Learn Group also offers Supported Independent Living in shared homes, Short Term Accommodation and respite including supported getaways, a Saturday Club, an After School Program for school-aged children, School Holiday Programs during every school break and pupil-free days, and a School Transition Program that helps Year 10 and Year 12 students move from school into a day program, work or community life.
Support workers are required to hold a Certificate III in Individual Support, current First Aid and CPR, an NDIS Worker Screening Check and experience in the disability sector. Participants with an NDIS plan who are plan managed, self managed or private can access services. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, and the centre operates Saturdays when required.
