I am friendly and I play music instruments. With over 2 years of experience working with individuals who have mental health issue, I possess comprehensive skills to deal PTSD, bipolar, schizophrenia, substance abuse and self-harm clients. I also hold formal training with a certificate III as an Individual Support Worker from Care Collage, Youth Work Certificate IV and certifications in CPR, First Aid and CPI. As a support worker I uphold the recovery-orientated principles especially where every individual is unique, have the right to make their own decisions and be treated fairly.
I also apply active listening skills to understand, provide support and resource individuals so that they can reach their goals. For example, I accompanied one of my clients to record his music at a music studio which enabled his strengths and encouraged him to achieve his goal. Additionally, I guide my clients through other activities such as by cooking together to give them self-confidence, skills and build rapport. Currently I work independently with clients and I always take the initiative to find creative activities for them that suit their interests.
