I am a registered art therapist who provides psychosocial and recovery support for people who have experienced mental health challenges. I facilitate individual and group art therapy session in a safe and nurturing space for people to express feelings that may be difficult to verbalise. I support people to develop healthy coping skills and focus, improve self-esteem and confidence and identify blocks to emotional expression and personal growth. I provide therapeutic interventions using the visual arts, including drawing, painting, origami, sculpture and sand play for mental health diagnoses, wellbeing, early intervention and developmental disorders.
Using visual art-making to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being. Art therapy works for individuals or groups using art processes such as painting to create meaning - rather than focusing on the end product. Helping people who cannot verbalise their feelings due to developmental, cognitive or other conditions. Having been witness to how art can transform and impact many of my clients' lives, I strongly believe that art therapy can help people to resolve conflicts, develop interpersonal skills, manage behaviour, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and achieve insight.
