About InLife

Niddrie, Victoria

We’re a rapidly scaling, not-for-profit disability support provider that believes in positively transforming the lives of people with disability. In doing so, we aim to create the highest quality agency we can, ideally reshaping the sector as a whole. This means we often do things differently. Since we began in 2015, we’ve made it our mission to examine every part of what a support provider does – from how we structure our teams, to how we recruit and roster, to how we ensure the highest quality support, to how technology acts as an enabler for all that we do.

Our clients tell us they notice this difference, and for many it’s had a profound impact on their lives. Supporting more than 250 clients across metropolitan and regional Victoria and only continuing to grow, we want the people who join us to also believe disability support should enable a life of independence and dignity.

A very professional and ethical service to work in conjunction with. No stone is left unturned in their efforts to deliver client focused support.

Response from InLife

Thank you so much for taking the time for this feedback! We really appreciate the kind words and for recognising the amazing work of our client service team.

In my 8 years in the field this is by far the best organization I have worked with and for. Person centered towards their clients and staff. Fair pay and support. You feel appreciated as a team member which is so important. The clients are being empowered and listened to. Person centered all around which is absolutely fantastic and unfortunately not always given in the industry."

Worked for the company for over a year. Never late, never missed a shift. When the first round of Covid-19 started while everyone was in lockdown they dumped the high needs client with no warning for no reason whatsoever. The client was left with no care company. They did not even have the decency to call me as their employee and tell me I was out of a job. Would not recommended this company for any clients.

Response from InLife

Dear Denise, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re disappointed that you didn’t feel you had a positive experience as an InLife staff member; this doesn’t reflect how highly we value all our team members and the standards we set for employee wellbeing. We believe we’re familiar with the circumstances of the client you’re describing. We see all our clients as family and tailor our care accordingly, but sometimes it’s not possible to find mutually agreeable solutions for everyone. The decision to provide six weeks’ notice is not one we made lightly, which is why we also offered to extend our service if more time was needed to transition to another agency, particularly in light of COVID-19. We were pleased to have you continue as an InLife assistant and included you in our talent pool to be matched with a new team. For security, we remove systems access if someone hasn’t been matched and rostered for an extended period of time. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you by phone. We always look for ways to learn from every employee’s experience and continuously improve. Please stay safe and best wishes, David Clarke, CEO

This service is the best! They treat you as an adult if you are one. Also your workers. Their coordinators come to your house to help you 'set-up' and even help with a shift occasionally - if a support-worker is ill, etc. There are no tablets or timesheets to sign. Workers are paid weekly, and the company sends your computer a list of shifts of the past week which you approve or add a note if you want to add or subtract anything. There are no chemists - for your medication - involved unless you want or need them. If you wish to have a get-together for you and your workers the company actually PAYS for them to attend it! They even pay for alcohol at the Christmas party. You and your workers can negotiate times without telling Inlife. As long as the workers get paid the right amount of pay for hours worked they don't mind. Your hours are on a computer programme called 'Deputy' so you can change your time and the workers will be sent an email allerting them of the change. Best of all - they are APPROACHABLE. And last, but by no means least, Inlife sends you a detailed monthly account every month, so you can keep an eye on your expenditure, thus enabling you to see if you are overspending or underspending your budget!"

I am in the capacity of a support worker, with Inlife, however I am a trainer and assessor in Disability by trade. I have worked with truly amazing staff at Inlife. They were committed and caring individuals that went above and beyond the call of duty for the people they cared for, having a genuine likeness and respect for them. Quality care was given to the client with good communication between staff and client. When an incident happened it was handled professionally making sure both staff and client were taken care of. I would highly recommend Inlife to both clients and support workers. I would have liked to have been part of more regular meetings.

Review Update I love this provider as I can control my care via a great online platform so all my shifts are coordinated by me! First Review - 5 star November 18, 2015 I am finding InLife great, as you are in control. InLife has a data base for staff Melbourne and Geelong and its growing. You have your girls contacts details and you do your rosters, no need for the middle man. InLife is there, if there are problems. And they will talk to staff if you are finding their are problems, also they do check in just to see how everything is going. A Happy Customer

The staff at InLife Independent Living have done a sterling job to set our daughter up in Melbourne with great carers, careful planning of rosters etc so that she can attend university. Moving from rural Victoria, we could never have managed without their expertise, knowledge and good old fashion common sense approach with a huge slice of empathy thrown in! People at home ask how on earth we got our daughter to uni and living in Melbourne and we just say we have a great team on board!

The team at InLife Independent Living in Melbourne have done a sterling job to set up our daughter (physical disability in electric wheelchair) in Melbourne with wonderful carers, rosters etc. We could never have managed the transition from country Victoria to set our daughter up for university without the expertise, knowledge, experience and common sense approach the team at InLife Independent Living provided. When people at home ask how on earth we got our daughter to uni and living in Melbourne I just say we had a great team on board! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for disability support.

I recommend InLife all the time! With the increasing demand for personal support workers due to the implementation of the NDIS, it means it will only get more difficult to find and keep good quality staff. We chose Inlife because they pay my sister's support staff higher wages that they can afford to live on and provide excellent working conditions. Since moving to Inlife we have had consistency of workers and because the staff are treated so well, they come to work and are fully engaged in my sister's recovery from acquired brain injury. Inlife have always responded quickly to our changing needs and exceeded our expectations. We love Inlife!

In the 13 years that I have had a spinal cord injury, this is the ONLY agency who have provided support workers to me who actually know how to do my care specific to my needs. I've been with all the big agencies claiming to specialise in my care, with all their promises and more, but no one tops InLife. They do not charge extortionate rates, support workers are paid well and treated with respect, and the support worker and client have much more contact with each other (streamlining things so that you don't need to use a middleman much, if at all) which saves countless hours. You're not getting just anyone on the end of the phone, you always get someone who knows you and your program, someone who has direct experience of disability personally or professionally, and you are charged fair and reasonable rates and once your program gets going, you have a stable of regular support workers alternating so that you always know who is coming (many agencies promise this, these guys actually deliver). Don't put yourself through the drama of all the false promises of the big companies, go with these guys, the business model puts the power and control in the hands of the client and with the advent of the NDIS, that's the most important and best thing about the model used by this company to arrange their care. Take it from a C5 complete wheelchair user, these guys are at the top of their field in every way.

We've just started with InLife, but so far this model is really working wonders for us. It is so great to have our support workers' numbers and be able to collaborate with them directly to create a timetable that works for everyone. Finally, we can ensure that staff can meet and support each other and we can ensure that staff get as many shadow shifts as they need. Yay for choice and control. The online rostering tool is easy to use, and the lovely InLife founders are only a phone call away to help problem solve. InLove with InLife

Response from InLife

Thanks for the feedback! Glad we making a difference for you, and that our model is working just the way we hoped it would :)

Recently I changed to InLife Independent Living, a carer agency that started up in 2015. Their understanding and knowledge of what is needed by people who have to rely on carers is very appreciated. They want me as a person, who needs care to have control and choice in my life and they want the carers to feel valued and appreciated. The paper work is made easy with the use of technology, for me, my family and my carers, this saves time and confusion. I have been very happy with the care and help given, by them to make it easier for me to have the care I need to be a part of my community.

Response from InLife

Thanks for the feedback Anj, we're delighted to have you on board and very glad it's working out so far. Keep on doing what you do, you're a star :)

I am a Support Worker for InLife and like the way it gives the Participant the flexibility to enjoy life. My years of working in the Care Industry shows InLife allows Participants and Support Workers to have direct communication to meet the challenges of life. Inlife allows for each person to be equal so that care is provided in a respectful, thorough and thoughtful way. I enjoy working with participants and it is interesting that any disabilities seem to fade as you work together. The satisfaction of achievement works both ways. Best of all Inlife puts back the balance of fun, laughter, challenges and achievements in all our lives.

Updated review, August 2017 Have just spent a wonderful 10 day holiday in sunny Noosa Qld thanks to a company dedicated to enabling its clients to participate in life as they see fit. Spending quality time in a relaxing environment with a staff member who knows my needs and requirements meant that stress levels were significantly reduced for both of us. A company that supports holidays is a rare find. Review, 2015 With InLife, my disability has become less of a focus while the quality of my daily life has been greatly enhanced. I feel as if I'm in more control of my NDIS package, they assist me to enjoy my life, and I have maximum flexibility to utilise my funding more efficiently and effectively.

I am employed as a support worker with Inlife and I would strongly recommend them as a place to work and for participants of the NDIS. InLife supports participants right to live as enriched life as possible by providing them with support staff who are skilled, compassionate and empathetic... and aims to keep raising the bar in providing a quality service.
