Give a Care

I used this service for my son. They provide support for him when we're not around for day to day living support. They occasionally take him out of home as required too. We've been with them for a while, and they've greatly improved over that time. They're very contactable, responsive to suggestions and concerns.

I used this service for my son. I approached them because my son's carer switched to Give A Care. My experiences so far with the services have been support workers for him, with varying hours helping with many different needs. As for the administration side, I've found their service to be timely, are flexible especially with short notice, and are usually accommodating for our needs. It's pretty rare that they can't. I found them to be very professional, good with invoicing and contacting me regarding any required information. I was very impressed with the initial set up of my son's plan with them. I think we got the best care plan we've ever seen. Also, when they found suitable support workers for my son, they sent us a lot of information on them before even meeting them which was very helpful. I found the level of education with the carers to be above average, and were more than experienced enough for the work. Give A Care also had a good amount of male carers, which was really helpful for my son. What I like about companies like Give A Care, is that they're new to the industry, which gives them a fresh approach, and aren't so big they lose track of the personal touch that can sometimes happen. I just hope they always try to keep that, before they get too big!

I used this service for my daughter. They helped find in home carers, new equipment, and help finding accommodation. It's been good, but I'm still getting used to delegating all these tasks. The only thing they could actually do better is to touch base with us a bit more regularly, which would be really helpful. I feel very comfortable having heavy conversations with them too which is really important.

My brother has been with an agency before that he didn't find helpful, but Give a Care has been much better for him. They treat him like a person, which is really important. They give us notice if anything goes wrong, which is really valuable so we can prepare accordingly. My brother is extremely happy with them, and more relaxed when he goes out with them now. They're flexible with his needs with is also really great. They've one of the best agencies that we've dealt with.

We have a support worker through them for my son, to help him learn life skills. They also helped me understand things about his plan which I appreciate. They've also been very supportive. There is nothing I think they need to improve on. They help me through every step of the process and explain whatever is needed to me. I couldn't speak more highly of them.

They provide support workers with one on one care for my son. So far, the support workers have been extremely good, and have made themselves available to meet beforehand which is important. They make me feel confident they're going to look after my son's safety. They're are also open to trying new things for him which I appreciate. The organisation is also extremely responsive, and has a good handle on customer service which is great. I can't fault them at all.

They've provided support workers for my son. The one that we have regularly, is amazing. If I could keep him I would. I really appreciate how good he is with my son, and teaches him things like how to shave. If we didn't have our regular worker I'd probably start looking somewhere else though. They haven't been as good a fit for him.

Give-a-Care work with my daughter, they've been pretty good. When she wants to go out with the carer she can. My daughter and the carer get on well, I use to help coordinate, but now my daughter can do all of that. The ladies I have spoken to have all been very helpful so far.

I used this service for myself. My worker has been out to see me, the first person wasn't right for me. Then they organised some grass-cutting for me I but won't be using him again. My worker is helping me find others that work for me. They're really good for me, but there's definitely issues with the NDIS service that interfere with how they can function. My worker is also helping me with a lot with issues in my plan. I feel like I click with her and she's very helpful with my anxiety.

I used this service for myself. The service cleans the kitchen and bathrooms for me, and takes me shopping and swimming. I love the two girls that come out to help me. They're very friendly and nice. One thing they could improve on in the future for me is ringing, and not emailing me.

This service was for my son for support work. This helped my son to be supported which he definitely needed help with. They've given us much more time to be ourselves as parents. Thanks to Give A Care. Their staff was really wonderful. When I ask for help, they're able to do that. One issue is on the weekends I'm not able to find the person I need. I would like other options in contacting them. But overall they're an amazing service.

I used this service for me. The service organises social stuff like doctors, taking me to my family and other places. I'm enjoying it because I have support workers. My key worker is going to help me get linked in with new services too. So far my 2 support workers organised have been really good. I'm doing well with the both of them. I'd like to get more support in the future to get to more places. I reckon they're doing a good job for me and I've had no problems.

My first impression of Give a Care was great! The carers are great and the staff are good. I can't see any way they could improve. I'd definitely recommend them.

Review Update I used this service for carers for my daughter. My first impression was pretty good. I did however have 2 different workers who couldn't take my daughter to the locations needed. However eventually I did get a fabulous worker, and she's very responsive and very good. First Review - July 12, 2019 5 star Give a Care is responsive to my disabled daughter's needs. The Carers have been very professional , age appropriate & have made all the outings in the community fun. The booking system is easy to use & most requests have been accommodated.

I used Give A Care for myself for core support. My first impression was it's a great company to be under, I've been with them for 2 years. They give great support to people with disabilities. I love it. I really like the support they give, and the care they have for people with disabilities. The staff are really good.

I used this service for myself. My worker was so easy going, made me feel like I was in good hands, and hopeful that I was going to have good services following. Every referral he's made has made my life change for the better. Which has also changed my children's life for the better. Everything has been fine, I can't think of any way they could improve. It gives me security for the present and future.

I am leaving a review for myself for this service. I had a really good impression the first time I met my support worker. There seems to be prompt communication with the service, and are very apt at making the right referrals to the right programs. They're also very determined to resolve issues and make positive things happens for their clients. I can't think of anything they can do to improve.

My first impression of the service (support coordination) was fantastic. We were getting knocked back by so many places. Give a care answered the phone straight away and were more than helpful. They just seem to be getting better and better. All the staff are lovely and have the best attitude. I think they're a company that are moving forward. The lived experience is so valuable. They used the rights-based approach which mattered to me a lot.

I was very impressed by the service. They handled the situations where I wasn't happy with a service I was using for a family member. They were very prompt helping us get out of it. Plus the support worker for my family member really puts in her time for us, she's amazing. I would love them to have more workers though, they seem to be under the pump a bit. I would recommend this service.

I used this service for my sister for support coordination. They're very professional, and very good. I can't fault them at all. They helped me coordinate a lovely holiday for my sister, it was a great experience. Looking forward to the future. It's good to know someone will be there for her.

I used this service for my sons. I used Give a Care for support coordination. They were professional and knowledgeable. I like that they're very responsive to emails and phone calls. Overall I really liked this service. I felt like I was being treated based on my children's needs, which was great for me.

Great DSW, my daughter is very happy. However organisation lacks communication between departments Have had far too much trouble dealing with this company. If my daughter was not happy I would have moved on by now. Two stars for support worker none for GAC.

I am a parent of a disabled daughter who lives at home. Give-a-Care has provided wonderful, reliable service to us since our daughter received her NDIS package in April. The carers have been well-matched to our daughter and have been most reliable at all times. The few shifts carers have had to cancel due to sickness have been rescheduled quickly and considerately. Any questions raised have been attended to promptly and courteously. Our particular carers, three in number, are full of initiative and energy, which makes for a very happy situation for both our daughter and ourselves. Thanks, we love the service!

1. The response time to a request is good. 2. The action taken when a concern is expressed, has been good. 3. Everything important regarding support workers and shifts and any changes is quickly confirmed in writing, which is also very good.

Helpful, prompt, courteous most of all flexible... no one gets 5 stars... unless perfect!

Give a care has been really great in providing support for my son. I haven't had an issues with their services and they are always really professional and approachable.
