ARCOFYRE® is a lived experience social enterprise with a focus on peer-led rehabilitation and reintegration. We support justice-affected NDIS participants 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! Our mission is to support all people who have been through or are at-risk of exposure to the criminal justice system. We provide a focused, productive and useful plan encompassing support, vision and hope. People with disability are overrepresented in the Australian criminal justice system and are a disadvantaged sub-population within the already disadvantaged prison population. Inadequate disability support is linked to cycles of offending and reincarceration for people with disability. Despite the importance and prevalence of these issues, there is limited research in Australia on the intersection of disability and correctional services.
