Gentle Yoga, Backcare, Easy Restorative Yoga, and our Breathwork classes are especially suitable for those with any type of health condition they are managing. Among other things, in situations where you are using or considering a physio, chiro, psychologist, sports medicine doctor, or psychiatrist, try out yoga and breathwork too. Many Flametree students find yoga is a very effective alternative, or complement to whatever else you are doing. For some students, yoga is the only solution that works, especially as an ongoing, long-term solution. You'll see stories by some of these students on the Flametree blog. Under "BENEFITS" tab on the Flametree site, you'll also see a list of the at least 117 health conditions where clinical trials have shown yoga to help. Flametree also has also a weight loss program, based around mindful eating. Accredited Senior Teacher These classes are also taught by an independently certified Senior Yoga Teacher, Christine Lalor, with 25 years of yoga teaching experience. Christine is also an accredited Yoga Therapist. Chris also has other certified Yoga Teachers who work with you, including another very experienced teacher, Belinda Hoult. Online & 3 Darwin studios All classes are online & in-studio (in Darwin NT at Woolner, Casuarina, & Palmerston). There’s also yoga at workplaces, & teacher training. The blog, class discussions, & private classes, also include advice on using yoga for wellness, time-restricted eating, better sleep, & more. FREE ways to start If newcomers reserve in advance, they get the 1st class free. There are very low-cost deals, such as 2 weeks free for beginners, half price 10 class passes for newcomers, or 10 free breath meditation classes (non-beginners only). Direct links to these deals are on the Home Page of our site (FLAMETREEyogaSTUDIO.com.au). Many new beginner students also start via a quick, 2-class Beginner Introduction (or mini-course). But you can, at any time, also just join the ongoing Beginner level classes. Yoga passes can be used interchangeably at all locations, and online. Some students also start with a private class, and then move to our group classes. NDIS includes yoga Private or group yoga can be included in NDIS plans. Props for yoga at home can also be funded by the NDIS. At Flametree in-studio classes, all yoga props are supplied. However, if you do our online yoga at home, NDIS can also cover the one-off cost of very useful yoga props such as a mat, a bolster (& ideally two), 2 blocks, a special yoga chair, a belt, some blankets, and weights. Grace Qigong

Sport and Fitness

5.0 (1)

From the provider: I am a trusted provider offering movement therapy and integrated breathwork to clients using the Chinese practice of Qigong as a modality to gently increase your range of movement and flexibily, energise your body by opening up the energy flow through your body and calm and focus the mind though focused movement connected to the breath. I am not a registered physiotherapist or occupational therapist but have listed my service under these categories to be visible on Clickability as a Movement Therapist. If you are looking for help with: improvement in mobility and range of movement reduction in pain due to muscular skeletal issues stress reduction improved clarity and focus improved state of mind and enhanced wellbeing then regular Qigong practice may well assist you in these areas. In particular Qigong is helpful with conditions like fibromyalgia motor neurons disease parkinsons disease muscular dystrophy arthritis anxiety and depression In my experience with regular practise Qigong is also highly beneficial in balancing the energy between the body, emotions and mind. So it is really helpful as a means of calming the nervous system and reducing stress and depression. I begin the process with an initial consultation to find out what existing conditions we are dealing with, what your goals are and what movement therapy you have previously done. My service can be provided through one on one sessions face to face, through joining my existing classes as listed on my website, or we can organise zoom catch ups and do our sessions online. It is a gentle and non invasive therapy that is suitable for most people even those with limited mobility. I have worked with a wide age group and with many conditions with great results.

From the provider: WHERE AGE IS NO BARRIER TO EXERCISE Third Age Fitness has the philosophy that age is no barrier to exercise. Too often we see older adults underestimated, either by themselves or by others around them, but we believe that with a little encouragement, and in the right environment, older adults can build and maintain their physical and mental well being to a level that will see them enjoy and participate in life to the fullest. Carol and Trudi have been working with older adults in the fitness industry for more than 50 years combined. We love working with older adults, and have worked with thousands of participants to help them and encourage them to use exercise as a way to build strength, confidence, and vitality, which is all so important to maintain as we age. We have a raft of fitness and health qualifications between us, and are constantly learning new techniques and ways to keep participants engaged and exercising. We are both qualified in Training & Assessment, and our workshop and online courses have been accredited by Physical Activity Australia and Fitness Australia.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do Sport and Fitness providers cost in Western Australia?

Sport and Fitness rates in Western Australia follow the NDIS Price Guide limits. Costs vary based on the type of support, time of service (standard hours, evenings, weekends), worker qualifications, and travel requirements. Plan-managed and self-managed participants have greater flexibility in choosing providers and negotiating rates.

What's the difference between registered and unregistered NDIS providers?

NDIS registered providers have met quality and safety standards set by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Agency-managed participants must use registered providers. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can choose either registered or unregistered providers, giving more flexibility in their choices.

Can I change my Sport and Fitness provider if it's not working out?

Yes, you have the right to change providers at any time. Review your service agreement for notice periods and discuss any concerns with your provider first. If you're unhappy with the service, you can end the agreement and find a new provider that better meets your needs.

How do I find Sport and Fitness providers who speak my language?

Use the Language filter at the top of this page to find providers offering support in your preferred language. Western Australia has providers available in many languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Greek, Italian, and more. You can also specify language requirements when contacting providers directly.

What qualifications should Sport and Fitness providers have?

All NDIS workers must have a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check. Many hold qualifications like Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or relevant allied health degrees. Specialist providers may have additional training in specific disability types. Always ask providers about their qualifications and experience.
