VALID is a not-for-profit advocacy organisation for adults with intellectual disability in Victoria, established in 1989 and funded by the Victorian State Government as the statewide advocacy body. It provides free, independent one-on-one advocacy to help people speak up, explore choices and make decisions, including employment advocacy for workplace rights. A self advocacy team runs networks, Easy English information and the Keys to Success training course, and works with NDIS participants living in group homes. It also develops training, information and resources for people with disability and their families, and runs community development projects that build more inclusive communities.
