About The Nursing Collective

New South Wales

I am originally from the UK, where I trained as a Registered Nurse for people with Developmental disabilities. In 2000, I trained as a mental health nurse inin Sydney. I have worked in public and private hospitals, as well as community and day services. Over the past 15 years I have specialised in working with clients with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and complex post traumatic stress disorder(cPTSD) using Dialectical behavior therapy (dbt).

Based on the Central Coast of NSW. I can provide services either face to face in the Central Coast, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie areas or online anywhere in Australia under either Core or Capacity building. DBT is a therapy designed to help people understand and manage their emotions, learn strategies to reduce their distress, be more effective by being assertive and setting good boundaries and develop better coping strategies.
