The Disability Company is a registered (since 2018) NDIS provider based in Victoria, offering person-centred disability support across Supported Independent Living (SIL), In-Home Care, Community Access, Short-Term Accommodation/Respite and capacity-building supports. Our focus is simple: to provide safe, reliable and meaningful support that helps people feel comfortable, respected and confident in their everyday lives. We believe support should never feel one-size-fits-all.
Every participant has their own goals, routines, preferences, communication style, support needs and version of what a good life looks like. Our role is to listen, understand and work alongside each person to help them build independence, connection and confidence at a pace that feels right for them. We support people in a range of ways. For some participants, this may mean assistance with daily living tasks, personal care, meal preparation, appointments, transport or developing skills within their own home.
For others, it may involve getting out into the community, joining activities, building friendships, exploring interests, attending programs or reconnecting with things they enjoy. We also provide SIL Housing & Care, which may include supporting participants in an existing SIL environment or working with participants, families and support coordinators to establish a new 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3 SIL home based on the person’s needs, goals and compatibility.
What sets The Disability Company apart is our commitment to creating supports that feel genuine, thoughtful and consistent. We take the time to get to know each participant beyond their paperwork. We look at who they are as a person, what matters to them, what makes them feel safe, what motivates them and what support looks like when it is done well. This helps us match participants with support workers who are not only appropriately skilled, but also suited to their personality, interests and daily routine.
Our approach is collaborative. We work closely with participants, families, guardians, support coordinators, allied health professionals and wider care teams to ensure supports are safe, coordinated and aligned with the participant’s NDIS goals. We value clear communication, practical problem-solving and regular feedback so that supports can grow and adjust as a person’s needs change. We are especially passionate about creating opportunities for participants to build independence in real and meaningful ways.
This may look like learning to cook a meal, managing appointments, exploring local community spaces, building confidence with public outings, developing social connections, maintaining a routine, or taking small steps towards bigger goals such as study, employment or independent living. We are proud of the moments where participants begin to feel more confident, more connected and more at home in their own lives. Success can look different for everyone.
Sometimes it is a participant attending a new activity for the first time, building trust with a support worker, settling into a new home, reconnecting with the community, learning a new skill, or simply feeling heard and supported. At The Disability Company, we aim to provide support that is warm, respectful and dependable. We are here to help participants feel safe, supported and empowered to live with greater independence, choice and confidence.
