Real Living Options is a family-governed, community-based organisation providing individualised disability support in Cairns and far north Queensland. Formed in 1996 by parents seeking an ordinary life in the community for their family member, it is run by a management committee and has supported people with disability for more than 25 years. Support is mainly one-to-one in the person's own home and in the community, with Lifestyle Assistants matched to participants by age, gender and interests. Registered NDIS supports cover daily personal activities, community access, group and centre-based activities, coordination of supports and innovative community participation.
Support Work
One-to-one support with personal tasks of daily living in the participant's own home, including sleepover support, plus help with cooking, cleaning, laundry and building everyday independence.
