We at Positive Futures Brisbane recognise that our experiences of mental health are unique to each of us. This means we support you to understand your strengths and discover the strategies that best position you to make positive changes to your health and wellbeing. We have worked in the community and allied health sector for many years which has included working with young people under the care of Child Safety and adults under the care of Disability Services and now NDIS.
Positive Futures Brisbane offers the unique service of outreach-only at the moment and, early 2020, will also be able to offer in-office appointments. We are willing to travel to see clients at their homes, day services, hospitals or other such venues. We believe it is essential to work with an individual’s entire support network and take a team approach when addressing challenging behaviours and mental health concerns. We have experience and knowledge in conducting NDIS assessments and reports and highly skilled in producing personalised Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) for clients with complex behaviours and disabilities.
Self-harming behaviours, sexualised behaviours, restricted practices and assessing clients with intellectual disabilities and communication deficits are our specialty. We are also able to provide training to carers, staff, family members and any relevant stakeholders. Additionally, we can also provide more generalised training and coaching to individuals and support teams on a diverse range of topics. Individual counselling is also available.
