Independent Development and Coordination is a small, participant-focused support coordination provider established in 2022 and based in Newcastle, New South Wales. The team works with people with disability, their carers and families under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, helping participants gain funding for the supports they require and identifying and connecting them with non-NDIS supports alongside funded ones. Support coordination and specialist support coordination are delivered by a team-based group of coordinators who aim to build participants' independence, choice and control, and who stay involved to keep service delivery running smoothly.
Support coordination is billed from a participant's Capacity Building Support Coordination budget. Office hours run seven days a week from 7am to 6pm, and the provider is open to adding support coordinators to its team as it grows.
