Biala Support Services is a community organisation in Ballina that runs disability supports alongside Biala School, an independent co-educational school. It has supported adults and children with intellectual disability, physical disability, acquired brain injury and sensory impairment in the Ballina area for 50 years. Supports include in-home help with self-care and daily living, supported independent living, short and medium-term accommodation, support coordination, community activities, art programs, supported holidays and school-to-work transition. Local support workers are available around the clock, and the school teaches a NESA K-12 curriculum with individual education plans.
