My name is Megan and I have been working in the disability sector for the last 15 years. I started in 2006 for DHS working as a casual for 4 years, gaining valuable experience in the disability sector working with all diverse disabilities and learning to adapt to different challenges and situations. After the 4 years i moved permenantly to the one house for the next 11 years, developing relationships and learning how to really understand the needs of someone I care for.
I also did an 18 month stint as a house supervisor in tose 11 years where i learnt the management side of disability, this has helped me to pursue a career in disability on my own. It is a passion of mine and I have expertise in numerous areas of disability such as intellectual and physical disabilities, manual handling, behaviours of concerns, peg training, epilepsy training, medication administration, I have completed my certificate 4 in disability and advanced diploma in community sector management.
