Occupational Therapy Online Occupational Therapy Online provides occupational therapy services to adults across Australia via telehealth, with a strong focus on Functional Capacity Assessments, functional assessment and practical capacity-building support. We work with NDIS participants with a range of disabilities and complex functional presentations, including psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual and developmental disability, neurological conditions, physical disability, chronic pain and other conditions affecting everyday functioning.
Functional Capacity Assessments We provide comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) to clearly identify how a participant's disability impacts their everyday functioning and support needs. Assessments consider functional capacity across areas including: personal care and daily living domestic activities communication and social interaction cognition and executive functioning community access and participation mobility sensory processing education, employment and meaningful roles informal and formal support requirements assistive technology and environmental needs, where relevant.
Reports provide clear functional evidence and practical recommendations to assist participants, families, Support Coordinators and other members of the treating team with NDIS planning and support implementation. Occupational Therapy Capacity Building Individual telehealth OT sessions are also available for participants working towards greater independence in everyday life. Support may include development of routines, executive functioning strategies, daily living skills, social and community participation, problem-solving, sensory strategies and structured goal achievement.
Why Telehealth? Telehealth allows participants to access occupational therapy Australia-wide, including those living in regional, rural and remote areas or people who find travel, unfamiliar environments or face-to-face appointments difficult. Sessions are completed from the participant's own environment and can involve family members, support workers and other members of the participant's support team where appropriate. Occupational Therapy Online is a registered NDIS provider.
