I am a support worker with My Choice My Support. I like my case manager, she really works in a way that makes you feel included and cared for. I do get a sense that she has your interests at heart and that is probably the most beneficial thing fo me at the moment. Her personality and approachability has always been really helpful. My Choice My Support responds to my queries and my needs quite quickly. Though I don't get to see my case manager too often we are very much in touch online and over the phone. Even though you work remotely I still feel like I'm connected to the company. As a manager I don't have that sense of dread about going to her with anything and she always makes time for me. So far there isn't anything I'd like My Choice My Support to change. I've been with them about 8 months and nothing stands out in that way at the moment. I'm overall quite please about working with them and pleased with my relationship with them. They even recently gave their staff a small pay rise. They could provide more training. I've had one lot of training so far that they did with me because one of my clients needed specific machines. I would like more training for working with people with development issues such as autism, down syndrome and other mental health issues. I do understand that training goes on a needs basis and I don't have those clients right now but would to move that way in the long term and would like training in that area in the future. There are several similar companies in our area that run similar services and I have friends across the industry that work with those companies. I have no desire to join any of the other companies – you know you can move but I'm really happy with where am.

Response from My Choice My Support

I am a support worker with My Choice My Support. I moved over to My Choice My Support for the lass that runs it. I’ve worked in different organisations that she’s been at in the past. She cares about people and isn’t just there for the job. She’s there for social integration and equality. I’ve also worked with two of the guys there for 10 years. My Choice My Support need to work on their website on how to put shifts through, their webpage template could be improved. I also work for another agency and their system is much easier. My Choice My Support are just going through the teething process so I’m sure they’ll get better. They need to promote themselves more, so that more people know about what they do. The clients need to know there are more services out there and so do staff. There are a lot of people that want to try something left field but don’t know there are other agencies around. They could promote themselves on social networks and through their webpage as they need to it get the message out there.

I am a support worker working with My Choice My Support. This is my dream job so there is nothing that I don't like about it. I find it the easiest job in the world with my personality. You have to let clients know who you are, not just to know them. My clients from My Choice My Support are all amazing. I'm very lucky that I've foud My Choice My Support – they thank me and respect me. They make me feel important while other organisations don't give me any recognition. It helps when you have good management who helps workers get hours and also help clients when they need support. The pay and conditions are good and they work around my schedule. Since I joined them, I feel like I'm treated like I'm really someone. I have existing clients moving to My Choice My Support because of their relationship with me. A few of my clients are long term clients and it can be very stressful getting them the care they need for their funding. There aren't always enough hours in someones plan for the support they need. My Choice My Support is a small organisations that's just starting to grow. I hope that they keep growing so that they can have more staff in the future to support their workers and clients. I think they're doing a really great job at the moment.

My Choice My Support are excellent and I recommend them very highly. When I send them an email or a phone call they answer straight away. The staff support me in any way that they can to make sure my husband and I can stay in our own home and I get lots of help from all of them. They make an effort to come and see me – if they can tell that I'm stressed or not coping someone comes to check in. There is nothing they could improve. They do their job very well and often read between the lines with what's going on in my situation. It is a shame I didn't know about them before. They are 100% better than any other service we've had before. My Choice My Support always help me out and it's no stress for them. Before I found them, I was ready to give up on supporting my husband at home but now it's different. I recommend them highly and value them all.

Response from My Choice My Support

Borrowing words from a support worker, My Choice My Support are more 'face friendly' than other organisations, in comparison to the experience you would have with large organisations where you don't deal directly with people. Having more influence in employing support workers, you feel more responsible for the welfare of your workers than you would in a different situation. I feel that the quality of their support workers is better than other situations I have experienced.

Response from My Choice My Support

Dear Joyce, Thank you for your positive feedback. My Choice My Support endeavour to source quality support workers according to the persons experience, presentation and qualifications. MCMS are pleased to give participants and their families the opportunity to recruit employees of their choice.

I'm a support worker that works with My Choice My Support. I like how they cut out the middle man when we're talking to the service users themselves instead of going through coordinators and managers. I've really enjoyed working there so far. There's nothing I've noticed that I don't like but I don't think I've done enough shifts yet to have any negative views on them. In the future I think they will need more support workers, they have plenty of staff now but as the business grows they'll need a greater range of staff (such as people of different age and gender) because clients needs are different and they will want different things.

Response from My Choice My Support

Dear Ashleigh, Thank you for your positive feedback. My Choice My Support will take on board your suggestions. My Choice My Support value and appreciate the great work that all support workers do.
