I was seeing Mary Ann for an extended period of time at a few different locations. I found her approach to be inconsistent and lacking in structure. She gave me a lot of reading material to take home but during our sessions I didn't feel validated or understood. On one occasion Mary Ann commented that she got into this career because she "wanted to work with 'people like me'", which came across as stigmatising and condescending. I would not recommend Mary Ann Griffin to anyone with complex issues, particularly trauma and psychosocial disability. I don't believe that she has the necessary experience to recognise and respond to emotional vulnerability in a reassuring manner.
