Mara Kundilje is a registered NDIS provider that draws on traditional bush medicine and the wisdom of Ngangkari healers alongside contemporary medical knowledge. Its disability and wellbeing pathway offers tailored support for daily living, with an eye to independence and community activities, and helps connect participants with a supportive community so they can play an active role. Its spiritual healing pathway uses methods such as smoke ceremony, bush medicine and spiritual reconnection, and its cultural awareness pathway offers courses teaching Indigenous cultures to groups of any size.
The team also delivers culturally appropriate community health services directly to remote communities, covering oral health, kidney health, diabetes, STI prevention and drug and alcohol counselling. Mara Kundilje works with people of Indigenous descent, the elderly, the vulnerable and those who are lonely, and aims to work with participants, families and support networks so that participants have a say in decisions about their supports.
