Far North Community Services is a not-for-profit NDIS provider working across the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The organisation runs five branches and has supported local communities since the start of the NDIS, and almost all of its staff work full time. Its therapy team delivers occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology in homes, schools and communities, including planned travel to remote locations. Core support workers help with daily life tasks and community access, and the provider also runs supported independent living houses, flexible family support with respite, a drop-in outreach centre in Broome, and a Telethon-funded program for children and young people.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists work with participants on everyday activities at home, school, work and in the community, covering functional assessments, assistive technology, positioning, home modifications and hand therapy. Therapy also reaches remote communities and on-country group programs.
