Essential Disability Care Services

Whilst gaining employment with this company was relatively easy and the process was reasonably relaxed, things started to go pear shaped pretty quickly, upon commencement of employment. Despite very clearly communicating, that I did not wish to be put onto short shifts (due to issues around excessive travel and fuel costs etc.) this was exactly what this organization did. I was bombarded with several short shifts every week that required an excessive amount of travel, to the point, where eventually I made it very clear, I was unwilling to complete any more of these short shifts. What happened then? I was given more short shifts. On top of short shifts, (often to clients who were quite a distance away) shift cancellations were common, (up to three or four a week) and when shifts were carried it out, it was clear that many clients were left to their own devices. Residences were dirty inside, gardens were unkempt, clients themselves appeared disheveled, or lacking coping mechanisms to live alone/independently. When this was recorded and reported back (as required) nothing was done......Finally, base grade support staff are largely ignored, whilst management and corporate staff are lauded and constantly referred to, as doing brilliant work. (Though I actually saw very little of this "brilliant work myself?) Finally, there were lots of issues around being paid fairly (and or even at all at times) with pay slips taking weeks to appear and contact with payroll virtually impossible, as nobody replies back to you. My final advice, is , if you are looking for work within disability/support services, B-line away from this provider, you may quickly get employment (as I did) but that is about as much of a positive slant, I can give as far as employment with this particular employer is concerned.

Now we have found Essential Disability Care Services we are extremely happy, finally a service that says and does what they say they can do. They really work hard to help our son be the best he can be. Really there for our son and us. Easy to communicate with and also they communicate with other services involved in our son's life. Our son is very happy and finally has a lot of wonderful positive people helping him grow. The future is looking great
