Disability Matters is a community-based, not-for-profit disability organisation based in Atherton in far north Queensland. It has supported people living with disability on the Atherton Tablelands since it was incorporated in 1995, and was known as Tableland Respite Care Association until 2016. Around 90 staff deliver NDIS-funded and fee-for-service supports, including support coordination, plan management, supported independent living, short and medium term accommodation, in-home and community support work, and group activities run from its multipurpose hub, The Hive.
High intensity supports cover epilepsy and seizure assistance, enteral feeding, subcutaneous injections and severe dysphagia management.
