Four years ago, Australian Homecare personal care services were quite good. I'd moved from Melbourne to Rural Victoria and expected that there would be plenty of carers, but I was wrong. There were limited carers and over the years many have left, with few replacements. Their coordinators in the rural are were terminated and centralised in the city. That was when they really went down-hill. Rosters are regularly screwed up, carers are often underpaid, and they have a pathetic phone logo-out procedure, that often is not working or incorrect. My major problem has been rosters when regular personal carers are on leave. The vacant shifts are rarely even looked at until the week before, and by that time carers have other things booked or have other appointments. Also the backfilling of shifts is regularly wrong leading to no-one rostered for shifts or double bookings. Poor communication and they don't seem to care about clients or personal care staff, just making as much profit as possible from as little support staff as they can. Not recommended.
