It provides Participants with extensive support coupled with customisation, personalisation and ongoing support services to provide multi-faceted assistance that extends far beyond a standard tablet computer. Package Inclusions A personalised Assistive Technology for NDIS participants to manage life with independence and agency, with the ability to plan meals, schedule events, make calls, and set and manage goals. com/ How is this funded by the Participant?
The funding of aKin Home corresponds to the funding categories available in each Participant’s budget. aKin Home Assistive Technology and supports as identified are to assist participants with alternate communication or to access written or spoken communication through digital or other means. aKin Home has built in video and communication technology and provides continuity of support. Core and Capital In working with Plan Managers, Agency Managed and Self-Managed Participants the following categories have been used to fund aKin Home as a low-cost, low-risk Assistive Technology.
The budgets can be shifted between Core and Capital which we understand are flexible. Further to this, the NDIS may wish to check that the aKin Home service is relevant to Participants’ needs and goals. We will engage with the Participants’ existing OT if this is required; we are aware that this service can also be provided by TeleHealth.
