Art Therapy

From the provider: I have worked as a Transpersonal Art Therapist and Counsellor over the past 18 years. Inclusive of several other techniques and modalities that I have introduced into my practice that support and enhances the well-being and stability of my clients.  I also run therapeutic workshops privately here at my clinic as well community based.   All of what I offer is available for you to look through on my web site. www.frizzkirby.com  As a client comes to me it is important to work with the current issues they are experiencing. And from there each person has their own access to either a few or further continued consultations based as to their situation.   In considered communication and respect along with encouragement with each of my clients, I can ascertain as to how they are feeling and living their daily lives as the work continues with them in my clinic or on line, or phone (whichever way suits best).  With stress, fears, sadness along with many other words describing debilitating emotional traumas and or situations current or on-going it is imperative, I feel and know and from personal experience, to have support that encompasses what is offered here in my clinic. It ensures the clients feels safe in their lives, as the work they do here is life supporting and releasing internal issues ready to be moved on from. It happens naturally.   It is in the faith that a wound will heal that our emotions given the space to be held and heard that our mind also transforms. It isn’t in the “how to fix”, it is in showing up and trusting that in doing the work that our life unfolds for us as it does when ready.  Personal journey work with therapeutic support is something that I believe, as a Therapist and Counsellor, will enhance life where each day is felt as a gift. And on-going use of learnt tools to enhance when a moment might feel tense or difficult to navigate. Every person alive has issues emotion based and otherwise on and off throughout life and to support that (rather than ignore), a part of this journey, is finding the people who you feel are your caring community to assist along the way. Some of those are there for a short time and others a long time, and that is up to each of us ascertain.  If we are to think of some of the issues that do arrive as opportunity in growth opening up new doorways then it is worthwhile.  If you have any queries you can contact Angela on [phone hidden]

From the provider: Arts Psychotherapy and Clinical Supervision Arts Psychotherapy can be a powerful method for adults and children, of growing, and of healing: soothing, reassessing and creating change in our lives. It provides an alternative means of understanding ourselves, relationships, the world, and our place in it. Art Therapy can be wonderful for people with disabilities, especially when words, for whatever reason, just can't help. You do not need any arts skills to engage in art therapy. If you can hold a pencil, or a paintbrush, and put a mark on a page, this is all that is required. Arts Psychotherapists don't interpret your art, or use your drawing to diagnose problems. The Art in the therapy is used to help generate questions and ideas, and to better tap into your own innate wisdom. The art is used to help people regulate, to better understand their bodies and minds, and to create change from a 'bottom-up' perspective. Sessions can be conducted online, (if you live in rural Australia, or in any place where you can use a computer, laptop or tablet and wifi to connect), or face to face, (if you are south of Adelaide, South Australia, or near Victor Harbor). Contact InsideArts via email to discuss your needs. You'll be surprised how flexible we can be! NDIS funded services are available, with experienced arts therapists. About Glenda Needs Glenda has been using the arts therapeutically for nearly 20 years. She has an extensive background in multimodal Arts Psychotherapy, both with diverse client populations and in an educational role. Glenda has an academic and practical background in counselling, drama, art, neuroscience, disability, clinical supervision, paediatric psycho-social palliative care and art psychotherapy, studying post graduate programs at RMIT in Melbourne and Flinders University in Adelaide. Glenda runs her own Art Psychotherapy practice, providing both private and organization funded consultations. She also provides Clinical Supervision, teaches in Post Graduate Arts Psychotherapy, Counselling and Disability programs, and runs Professional Development for clinicians. Glenda has spent the past five years up-skilling Social Workers in Mongolia with Arts Psychotherapy training to support their work in disadvantaged communities in the region. With Glenda's extensive experience in disability, she can bring a new perspective in helping people achieve happiness and life goals. That is what art therapy is about the experience. It is about creating a place for safe exploration reflection and healing. It is about trusting that you the client is the expert in your own life.” Gabby will be working from the Clarendon Inside Arts studio on Fridays. Karo is Available Mondays and Tuesdays. “I felt that these pictures had something to say to me that was very important for me to know, but I could not tell what it was…. They gave me an emotion that I could not analyse. They said something that words were powerless to utter. I fancy that Strickland saw vaguely some spiritual meaning in material things that was so strange that he could only suggest it with halting symbols. It was as though he found in the chaos of the universe a new pattern, and were attempting clumsily, with anguish of soul, to set it down. I saw a tormented spirit striving for the release of expression.” W. Somerset Maugham, The Moon and Sixpence, 1919 Inside Arts - The art of looking inside. What is inside the art? What is the art inside us?

From the provider: 👋 HELLO! 😁 Dedicated Art Therapist with participants who want to express emotionally through art. I'm also an acredited Counsellor who fully loves the work that he gets to do in the NDIS 🌏 I've worked with participants across Victoria in person as well as online for participants predominately in Queensland 🏞 I understand that approaching Counselling in a traditional neurotypical way does not work with neurospicy folk 😵‍💫 your world is so much more all encompassioning, creative, interesting and vivid 🎨🎤📸✂️💠 ✅️ Therefore, it is my job to show up that way as well. I want your experience of thearputic support to be something you look forward to, not something that feels dreadful or like work. Because meeting with a total stranger for the first time to discuss such delicate matters shouldn't feel challenging. I want our sessions to feel seamless, interesting, engaging, and something that not only helps you meet your goals but helps to build your emotional toolkit. I want you to have those tools long after I have left the session. 💫🌟 You have a 50% part in how your sessions go. I bring my experience, talent, creativity and you bring bravery, creativity, trying and we can adapt together. If you don't like how something is going you let me know and we can change it. I've worked with some amasing people and I hope that we can connect - speak soon! Jake 🌞
